Everyone has a story, something that defines them and shapes the core elements of their personality. I decided long ago that being fat would not be my story. Not until I met Carolyn did I realize the monster inside my head was not about being fat or getting into shape, but about truly caring about myself. She worked with me on my needs, given my limitations and turning them into strengths. Carolyn showed me how to manage my 8-hour workday without losing myself and helping me to feel mentally and physically more present at work. Simple life changes that have great impact, making me ready for the day and ready for good nights sleep. Kind and caring, positive and able to see beyond my words—thank you Carolyn for being present, knowledgeable and willing to work with the daily realities of my life.-- M.A .
I started with Carolyn at a class with the Stroke Comeback Center. I had sat for long hours working for too many hours a day before I had a stroke and, although I didn’t have any physical effects from the stroke, I had stopped exercising and concentrated all my energy on speech therapy. As a result, I was sorely in need of finding someone who could help move me better, improve my balance and help me improve my agility. I started private sessions, and she helped me overcome my reticence and start a program designed especially for me that has increased my energy and overall state of fitness. She cheers me on and celebrates my achievements, encouraging me to be patient and persevere. In short, she is everything I hoped for to guide me to better health and fitness. Don’t hesitate or wait- sign up for a session today. - J.M. I believe it would be safe to say at some point everyone’s body hurts. As time goes on our body tends to have more aches and pains. I became Carolyn’s client when she noticed me standing in a way that showed I wasn’t comfortable. I admitted that my legs, back and feet hurt almost all the time. At that time though I was getting ready to bicycle 33 miles for a fundraising event for diabetic research and I was concerned about my ability to successfully complete the ride. Using yoga movements I was able to reduce pain and tension in my legs and successfully ride the entire 33 miles! I went from couch to the entire goal of 33 miles with her guidance and coaching! I was able to stop enduring the aches. And, she changed my perspective as well. Carolyn’s attention to detail in how I was moving and her compassion and desire to truly help me made a difference. The journey was a positive one in which I foresaw my feeling good and finished feeling great! The exercises were easy and were intended to make slight changes to retrain me how to move properly. I learned I could feel strong and improve faster with more mindful movement instead of pushing heavier or with more repetitions. I highly recommend Carolyn’s services. - --E.B. |
